We know the factors on which effectiveness and durability of introduced changes depends.

Changes

Changes

Heraclitus of Ephesus already noticed that the only constant thing in life is change. But chnges happen faster and faster. The things that 30 years ago was unimaginable, now are the part of our everyday life. How to lead business in this variable reality? The only way is to accept this reality and trying to create it. You should rebuild the organization culture to one where people will not affraid of changes but feel curiosity about them. As a result you will have the ability to quickly adapt to the changing market and independently create your own innovations to which your competitors will have to adapt.

System

System

Each organization consists of a system of related elements. Such a system strives for balance and introducing changes in only one area will give a short-term effect. One of the system models is the division into four categories:

  1. Activities (e.g. projects and processes)
  2. People
  3. Formal organization (e.g. organizational structure, procedures, incentive system)
  4. Informal organization (e.g. project teams, peer groups)

What many entrepreneurs forget about is the category of informal organization. How it looks, depends on the organizational culture. This, on the other hand, is like air that you cannot see, but you can’t live without it. It could be both a creative or a destructive force. The more we know about its composition, properties, process which it is part of – the better we can use it. The Wright brothers would not have been able to accomplish their feat without it.

Organisational culture is similar in this respect – it exists regardless of the size of the business or the industry it operates in. It is an element which brings people, knowledge and resources together. An organization breathes its culture – at all times. It could be the source of growth but also of innumerable problems. It is the determinant for whether a company is in free-fall, or a trend-setter at the head of the pack.

At Kaizendo we know and respect the forces of organisational culture and know how to use them to stimulate growth.
